Highlights

The iMG 1510X5 combines an innovative steel and granite sandwich construction with high-precision linear guide technology to deliver exceptional rigidity, stability and dynamic machining performance. The advanced 5-axis fork head provides simultaneous machining with RTCP functionality, while the modular drive system allows the machine to be configured with either precision ball screws or highly dynamic linear motors depending on production requirements.

Machine Construction

The unique steel and granite sandwich construction combines the rigidity and vibration damping of natural granite with lightweight structural components. This design improves machining accuracy while allowing higher feed rates and greater dynamic performance.

Tool Changer

An automatic tool changer with 18 tool positions is fitted as standard and can be expanded to accommodate up to 36 tools. Located outside the machining area, the tool magazine provides fast and reliable automatic tool changes while maximising workspace.

Milling Head

The rotating and swivelling fork head provides full 5-axis simultaneous machining with integrated RTCP (Rotation Tool Centre Point) functionality. Combined with high-speed electrospindles and precision gear drives, it enables accurate machining of highly complex components.

Control System

The machine is equipped with the latest Heidenhain® TNC640 high-end CNC control featuring a touchscreen interface, intuitive programming environment and advanced kinematic functions including RTCP, tool length compensation, axis kinematics and clamping position compensation.

The iMG 1510X5 features a rigid steel and granite machine construction, a rotating and swivelling 5-axis fork head, automatic tool changer, modern Heidenhain touchscreen control system and advanced tool measurement technology. Optional linear motor drives, high-speed spindles and a range of automation accessories allow the machine to be configured for demanding production environments.

Cooling Systems

Optional water cooling and minimum quantity lubrication systems are available to improve machining performance and extend tool life.

Tool Measurement

Tool measurement can be carried out using a Heidenhain® TT160 tool setter or optional laser measurement system for fast and accurate tool calibration.

3D Measuring Probe

An optional 3D measuring probe allows automatic workpiece measurement, alignment and setup directly within the machining area.

Manual Control Unit

An optional manual control unit provides convenient machine operation and setup when carrying out manual positioning tasks.

Tool Holders

A range of HSK tool holders and accessory packages are available to suit different machining applications and spindle configurations.
