The UMILL 1800 has been developed for high-performance 5-axis machining of large and complex workpieces. A powerful milling spindle delivers up to 600 Nm of torque (S1), while the universal milling head features a 15° undercut for improved access to difficult machining areas. The integrated rotary table allows both milling and turning operations on components up to 2,500 mm in diameter and 1,250 mm in height.
The external tool magazine is positioned outside the machining area to maximise workspace while simplifying maintenance and tool changes. Configurations are available with up to 203 tool positions using HSK 63A or HSK 100A/T tooling systems. Optional tool management and monitoring systems further improve productivity.
The compact universal milling head incorporates a high-performance electrospindle for dynamic simultaneous 5-axis machining. Numerous options are available including interchangeable angle heads, high-pressure internal coolant up to 80 bar and specialised tooling solutions for demanding machining applications.
The integrated torque-driven rotary table supports both milling and turning operations while providing precise simultaneous positioning. It is capable of machining workpieces weighing up to 10,000 kg during milling operations or up to 6,000 kg during combined milling and turning applications.
The UMILL 1800 offers an exceptionally large machining envelope while maintaining compact overall machine dimensions. The spacious work area provides excellent accessibility for large components and simplifies loading, unloading and setup.
