The machine bed is manufactured from heavily ribbed cast iron to minimise vibration and maximise rigidity during demanding machining operations. Hardened and ground guideways provide long service life while maintaining excellent positional accuracy.
The precision headstock houses the main spindle in high-quality bearings to provide smooth running, excellent concentricity and high cutting performance across the full speed range.
The carriage assembly features precision-machined slideways with adjustable gibs for accurate movement and long-term repeatability. The cross and compound slides provide smooth, backlash-controlled operation.
The Universalturn 50 comes equipped with hardened and ground guideways, a precision main spindle, reversible spindle drive, feed gearbox with hardened gears, electric chuck guard with safety interlock, coolant system, central lubrication and an ergonomic control panel.
